Hallo a dhuine 's a mhnathan uaisle! Tha mi a' sgrìobhadh dhuibh an diugh airson fiosrachadh a thoirt dhuibh mu'm chàraid a tha ag obair air fo-thiotalan Gaeilge. Mar a Ghàidhlig bidh a' chuid mhòr de na meadhanan anns a' Ghaeilge a' tighinn le fo-thiotalan anns a' Bheurla. Well, tha mo chàraid a' cur fho-thiotalan Gaeilge an àite na Beurla air bhideothan Gaeilge. Tha e an dòchas gum bi na bhideothan aige cuideachail do dhaoine a tha a' foghlam a' chànain. Gliog an seo airson tuilleadh fhaicinn: Fo-Thiotalan Gaeilge
Hello ladies and gentlemen! I am writing to you all today to tell you about my friend who is working on Irish subtitles. Like Scottish Gaelic, the majority of mass media in Irish comes with subtitles in English. Well, my friend is putting Irish subtitles in place of the English on Irish videos. He hopes that his videos will be helpful to people who are learning the language. Click here for more information: Irish Subtitles

Chan eil fhios agam - I don't know
Aidh, a-rithist tha mi nam shuidhe fo bhuaidh trioblaidean na beatha agus mì-chinnteach dè a nì mi. Tha mo fhoirmean iarrtais deiseil fa-dheòidh agus a-nis an t-aon rud a tha orm 's e a bhith a' feitheamh deagh-thoil an oillthigh... is dòcha. Tha fhios agam gur e àm fada air dol seachad bho mo bhlog mu dheireadh agus seo mo chiad bhlog na bliadhna ùire 2012 gu oifigeil! 'S math sin! Agus aig toiseach na bliadhna ùire, thachair mì-fhòrtan air mo chuid chàraidean agus tha e a' coimhead gun do ruig e mi cuideachd. Chan ann rud trom-chùiseach, na gabhaibh dràgh... dìreach trioblaidean leis an obair agus rudan mar sin. As dèidh thrì mìosan ann an Roinn-Eòrpa fhuair mi a-mach de cho cruaidh a tha e obair fhaighinn an seo, air an eaconomaidh Eòrpach. Ged a bha mo chàraidean Eòrpanach gu math brosnachail , tha mi a' fàireachdainn nach eil fhios aca air na dùbhlain an aghaidh neach-còmhnaidh mì-Eòrpanaich.
A-nis tha mi a' siubhal iar air ais dhan na SA. Chì sinn...
Well, again I find myself in the throws of life unsure of what to do. My graduate applications are finished for the time being and now all I have to do is sit tight and wait for acceptance... hopefully. I know it has been a long time since my last blog and this will officially be my first blog of the new year 2012! Woot! And at the start of the new year, many of my friends were greeted with misfortune and it appears to have reached me as well, nothing serious though, thankfully, just job troubles and the sort. After three months in Europe, I have found it exceptionally difficult to find employment here, on the European economy. Even though my European friends were exceptionally encouraging, I feel as though they are not entirely familiar with the challenges that non-EU residents face with finding employment here.
Now I am again traveling West back to the US. We'll see...

Mo chuid droch Ghaeilge is Gàidhlig mhath! - My bad Irish and good Gaelic
Hallo a chàirdean! Tha mi air ais an dèidh ama chruaidh ag obair air deuchainn an GRE. Uill, mhàir mi, no tha mi a' smaoineachadh gun do mhàir. Co-dhiù, a-nis tha mi deiseil a chuir mo fhoirmean iarrtais dha na oilthighean aig a tha mi ag iarraidh a dh'ionnsachadh. Chì sinn ma-tha... J
Agus bu mhath leam a bhruidhinn mu rud leis an ainm GaelSkype. Seo an t-àite far a bheil sinn a' cruinneachadh airson còmhradh a ghabhail le daoine eile aig a tha Gaeilge, Gàidhlig, no Gaelg. Dh'innis mi dhuibh 'sa bhlog agam ro seo mu dheidhinn daoine a tha ag obair gu math cruaidh leis na cànanan seo. Seo cuid de na càridean agam (san dealbh) air Skype a' labhairt le chèile. Tha Gaeilge aca. Agus seo mise air a' bhun a' feachainn ri bhruidhinn droch Ghaeilge. Tha ceithir fichead sa deich sa cheudad (90%) an rud ceudna. Labhair sinn mu fo-aodach Victoria's Secret agus cha robh thu ann! Haha!
Ach na gabhaibh dràgh! Tha Gàidhlig fhathast an àite sonraichte 'nam chridhe! Cha atharraich mi dhan an taobh bhan riamh! Agus dh'innis mi! Dh'innis mi gur e Gàidhlig an taobh dorch! Nach e gu math nas spòrsach a bhith air an taobh dhorch? Chan eil fhios agam umaibh, ach b' fheàrr leam a bhith an companach le Darth Vader agus Darth Maul (prìosail). Smaoinichibh air an torr tattoos sgoineil a b' urrainn dhuibh fhaighinn.
Ach ag innse na fìrinn, tha mi a' smaoineachadh gum feum Alba, Èire, agus Eilean Mhaninn obair ri chèile mòran. Chan eil e gu math a' bhith feuchainn na cànanan aca fhèin thàrmachadh nan aonar. Agus mar a thuirt mi ann am blog o chion ghoirid. Feumaidh na dùthchannan seo sealltainn air "A Talamh Nua" airson taice cuideachd. A bheil am facal sin ceart gu poileataigeach, "An Talamh Nua"? LOL!
Agus, mas e ur toil e, sìr mi, Alba!
Hello friends! I am back after a difficult time working on the GRE test. Well, I survived, or at least I think I did. Anyway, now I am ready to apply to the universities at which I want to study. We will see I guess… J
And I would like to talk about something called GaelSkype. It is the place where we meet for conversation with people who speak Irish, Gaelic, and Manx. I told you all in an earlier blog about people who work very hard with these languages. This is a picture of some of my amigos on Skype chatting it up! They speak Irish. And that’s me at the bottom trying to speak bad Irish. Ninety percent of it is all the same! There was a part where we talked about buying Victoria’s Secret underwear. You missed it!
But don’t worry! Gaelic still has a special place in my heart! I will never change to the light side! And I said it! I said that Gaelic is the dark side! Isn’t it much more fun to be on the dark side? I don’t know about you all, but I’d like to be in the company of Darth Vader and Darth Maul (sexay). Think of all the cool tattoos you could get.
But, to tell the truth, I think that Scotland, Ireland, and the Isle of Man need to work together more. It’s not good to try and develop their languages on their own. And as I said in a previous blog. These countries need to look to the New World for support too. Emm… Is that word politically correct, The New World? LOL!
And, please hire me, Scotland!

Ag ionnsachadh ''Ceiltis'' thar a' chuain - Learning ''Celtic'' across the ocean
A-nochd bidh sinn a' cruinneachadh airson buidheann na Gaeilge ann am Bloomington, Indiana. Chan eil mi ag iarraidh ach a bhith a' bruidhinn mum chàirdean an sin. Chan eil mi a' smaoineachadh gu bheil fhios aig na luchd anns na dùthchannan Ceilteach dè cho cruaidh obraichidh daoine an seo leis na cànanan seo. Tha càraid agam agus bidh e a' stiùireadh an Indian Celtic Community. Tha e air a bhith daoine a cheangal air feadh na stàite 'na aonar air fad. Gu dearbh bidh mise agus daoine eile ga chuideachadh uaireannan ach is àbhaist dha a bhith ag obair 'na aonar. Tha ban-chàraid agam cuideachd a tha a' gabhail ceum bho Oilthigh Indiana ann an corp-eòlas cultarach. Bidh ise a' rannsachadh ciamar a chruthaichidh daoine dearbh-aithne mar Ameireaganaich-Cheilteach. Agus is dòcha bidh ise a' sgrìobhadh mu daoine mar ise agus mise fhèin; luchd nach eil 'nan Gàidheil ach dìreach ghabh ùidh anns na cànanan. Tha annas agam ma tha na dùthchannan Ceilteach a' sealltainn iar thar a' chuain airson taice. Tha? Chan eil?

Tonight, we are meeting for our Irish language group in Bloomington, Indiana. I just want to talk about my friends there. I don't think many people in the Celtic countries know just how hard people work here for these languages. I have a friend and runs the Indiana Celtic Community. He has connected people from all over the state all by himself. Indeed, my friends and I help him sometimes, but he is usually on his own. I have another friend who is getting her degree from Indiana University in cultural anthropolgy. She is researching how people create identities as Celtic-Americans. And I hope she will write about people like her and I; people who are not Gaels but are just interested in the languages. I am curios if the Celtic countries look to the west much, across the ocean, for support. Yes? No?
Take a minute and check out the Indiana Celtic Community website!

TalkToYoUniverse: Tightening your plot by layering
Is fìor thoigh leam am blogair seo. Tha mi a' sgrìobhadh sgeulachdan cuideachd agus tha mi a' smaoineachadh gu bheil ise gu math cuideachail. Thoir sùil oirre ma tha ùidh agad ann an sgrìobhadh.
I love this blogger. I am writing stories too and I think she is extremely helpful. Take a look at her if you have an interest in writing.

An Dùbhlan - The Challenge
Hallo, is mise Garrett Anderson ach nuair a tha mi a' bruidhinn anns a' Ghàidhlig is toil leam an t-ainm Tormod. Chan eil fhios agam carson, ach tha fuaimneachadh an ainm dìreach a' còrdadh rium gu mòr. Co-dhiù, tha mi a' tòiseachadh a' bhlog seo air sgàth 's gu bheil mi ag iarraidh obair fhaighinn ann an Alba. Agus anns na laithean a dh'fhalbh o chionn ghoirid, tha mi a' faicinn nach eil e furasta a dhol dhan Rìoghachd Aonaichte mur eil Amaireaganach a tha annad agus chan eil thu anns an airmealteach. Mar sin, tha mi ag iarraidh blog anns a' Ghàidhlig a sgrìobhadh gus an latha a gheibh mise obair ann an Alba ann an coimhearsnachdan Gàidhlig no a bhith ag obair leis a' chànan fhèin air doigh 'sam bith.
